Who We Are
This page is designed to connect farmers to consumers! This page is directly connected to the Facebook group Farm Direct Wisconsin.
The founder of this group simply started the group on Facebook to show other people how easy it was to get local meat right from the neighbors in the area! It has now exploded into a resource for the entire state and the Upper Peninsula! Please be patient and courteous of these efforts! We do not ask for any fees or payments for being listed here!
If you would like to donate to help offset site and maintenance costs please see our Donate page!

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers are detailed so you can act quickly without extra back-and-forth.
How do I use the map to find farms near me?
Start by zooming into your county or ZIP on the map, then toggle the product categories that match what you need—beef, produce, dairy, poultry, or specialty goods. Each marker opens with pickup windows, product highlights, and contact info so you can reach the farm directly without intermediaries.
If you are new to direct-to-consumer sourcing, begin with one or two nearby vendors and confirm their ordering cadence. Many farms work on weekly or bi-weekly pickup schedules, and some will batch orders to minimize trips, so it pays to align with their cadence.
Save the vendors you like and share them with neighbors. Word-of-mouth helps farms plan inventory and reduces food waste, while giving you more reliable pickup options as demand stabilizes.
How do farms get listed and verified?
Farms submit basic details by email—products, pickup timing, location, and contact info—and we add them to the map once we verify the information is complete. There are no listing fees, and we prioritize clarity so shoppers know exactly how to buy.
We periodically reach back out to confirm that pickup times, product availability, and ordering links are still current. If a vendor goes seasonal or sells out of specific items, we encourage quick updates so shoppers are not surprised.
Community feedback is invaluable: if you encounter outdated information, email us and we will update the listing swiftly. This keeps the directory accurate and free to use for everyone.
What should consumers include when contacting a farm?
Lead with your county or ZIP, what you want to buy, and your preferred pickup window. Mention whether you are flexible on cuts or pack sizes for meat, or if you are looking for specific produce items. Clear details help farms respond quickly with real availability.
Ask about minimum order amounts, payment methods, and whether they batch orders. Farms often coordinate weekly runs or partner with nearby vendors, so a small request might be combined to save everyone time and fuel.
If you have storage or transport needs—like cooler space for meat—note that up front. Farms appreciate when shoppers arrive prepared, and it reduces the risk of product quality issues after pickup.
How can I support the project beyond buying directly?
Share the map with friends and local groups, and invite your favorite vendors to get listed. Visibility helps farms plan production and reduces reliance on expensive intermediaries.
If you have a minute, send us corrections or seasonal updates when you notice them. Fresh data keeps trust high for both farmers and consumers.
Donations offset hosting and verification time so we can keep the directory free. Even small contributions help us onboard more farms and maintain quality checks.
Can vendors promote seasonal or limited releases?
Yes. When you email your listing, include seasonal items—like holiday turkeys, berry u-pick dates, or CSA deadlines—so we can highlight them in your description. Time-bound offers stand out and drive timely orders.
Update us as soon as quantities change. We will adjust your listing so shoppers see accurate availability and do not attempt orders on sold-out items.
If you coordinate with nearby farms for bundles—meat plus eggs, or produce plus dairy—mention that, too. Shoppers love one-stop pickups, and it helps everyone move more product efficiently.
